Najuequa Barnes is an international AI, Digital Trust and Governance Advisor, helping organizations and governments build trust in an era of rapid technological transformation. As Managing Director and Digital Trust Governance Advisor of United Consulting International Limited (UCI), she advises governments, regulators and businesses across the Caribbean on transforming complex AI, data privacy and governance challenges into practical strategies that strengthen organizational resilience, accelerate responsible innovation and build lasting stakeholder confidence. 

A former PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) researcher and trainer in GDPR compliance, Najuequa is a Chevening Scholar, Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, and holds specialist certifications in AI Security & Governance and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM). She also earned the prestigious Certified Artificial Intelligence, Digital Policy (CAIDP) credential with Distinction, contributing to the AI Governance Policy Index, a globally recognized resource consulted by governments and policymakers in nearly 100 countries to advance responsible AI governance and policy development. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in Emerging Technologies with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence. 

An internationally recognized speaker and thought leader, Najuequa has contributed to global conversations on privacy, AI governance and digital trust, including at the Privacy Symposium in Venice, where she served as both a speaker and Scientific Track Privacy Chair. She works at the intersection of governance, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data privacy, helping organizations move beyond regulatory compliance to establish governance as a strategic driver of innovation, resilience and sustainable growth. She believes the organizations that will lead the future are not those that simply adopt artificial intelligence, but those that build the governance, accountability and trust required to use it responsibly.
