Chris Yahnker, P.E. received his B. S. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1997 and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in 2003. He is currently the Chief Technologist for the Autonomous Systems Division at JPL overseeing technology development and infusion for five sections including: Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Power Systems; Robotics; Avionics; and Flight Software. Prior to joining JPL in 2015, he worked in various commercial industries for 20 years with half that time spent working in robotics. He is a co-inventor on over 50 US Patents and holds a Professional Engineering licenses in MD and NC.
